Received

A working Emax, brought up to date so it would stay working. Nothing was broken; the goal was to replace the three parts most likely to fail next.

Work performed

  1. Installed a brand-new power supply. Beyond reliability, it removes the inverter noise heard on some older units.
  2. Replaced the floppy drive with a Gotek USB drive loaded with a full preset library — fast loading, silent, and no drive mechanism left to fail.
  3. Fitted a new OLED display in place of the original.
  4. Cleaned every front-panel button.

Result

A stable, quiet Emax with no original failure-prone parts left in the power, storage, or display path.
